                           In addition to the many Executive Officers and committee members who participate in making
                           our Union successful, Northwest District 250 has 11 full time employees. 

                                    The District employs seven Business Representatives, one full time Secretary-Treasurer and three
                           Office staff; all of whom are fully committed to making every one of the workplaces we represent
                           a success for the employees who work there.

 

                                    Your Business Representatives negotiate more than 125 separate Collective Agreements
                           throughout British Columbia, as well as handling the daily grievances, complaints, and
                           other issues that arise.

Stan Pickthall -  Directing Business Representative since 2005.
Stan started as a Business representative in 1994
and along with his responsibilities
as the  DBR
for the district  Stan represents employees at
Avcorp Industries and various other shops and serves as
Editor of the  Award winning Northwest News.
In his years as a business rep Stan has settled

Al Cyr - is our Organizing Business Representative.
A former partsman with Finning, Al has been a
rep with the IAM since 1996. If you know of anyone
who wants to join the IAM, please call Al.
He is also famous for hockey stories that always get
around to the topics of teamwork and solidarity.

 

 



  Gary Blanke - has been a Business
  Representative since 1998. Formerly
 an employee of Western Star Trucks  in
Kelowna, where he served a term as Chief
shop steward, Gary works out
of our Kelowna office, and represents
members in the Okanagan






 

                       
         

Walter Gerlach - Was elected in 2001
as Business Representative,
Walter formerly worked as an Auto Technician
for Wolfe Chev Olds in Burnaby.
Wlater has been a Union activist for many years,
and remains active at Local Lodge 1857,
the New Westminster and District Labour Council,
and on committees of the B.C. Federation of Labour.

 

 

   



Andrew Tricker - A toolmaker by trade,
Andrew left Aircraft manufacturing to be
a business Representative in 2004.
Andrew represents members from automotive,
machine shops and
manufacturing industries.


 

 

 

Paul Pelletreau-  A former Union steward at Avcorp
and a painter by trade, Paul had served on LL11
executive board since its conception before becoming a
a business representative, representing shops in the
manufacturing Industry serving on the
BC Fed health and safety committee
and maintaining this website.


 

 



       Alastair Haythornthwaite - Our newest Business Rep.
       Alastair works out of our Victoria office,
       and is responsible to our members on
       Vancouver Island. A  former Machinist and 28 year
       IAM member, Alastair has been active on the
       Duncan Nanaimo District Labour council for twenty years
       and is the founder of the Joseph Mairs memorial.

 

 


Cordell Draayers - Secretary Treasurer since 2005
and formerly worked at Finning Tractor
Cordell is the financial officer of the District, and signs all
cheques. Works with the financial officers of all the
Local Lodges in the administration of dues
and disbursements .




                             

                      Our office staff who are members of COPE 15 - administer reception duties, membership records,
                      dues registration, general correspondence, and numerous other duties associated with running your
                      Union office.

Donna
- has worked full time for the Machinists Union since 1981, and
 works closely with the Secretary Treasurer She handles payment of bills,
including time time loss for Bargaining Committees and Stewards,

Janet - Starting with the Machinists in 1993.Formerly employed with
    IAM CARES Janet provides general clerical support for  the Business Representatives,
    including day-to-day correspondence and making    necessary revisions to
    Collective Agreements.

Irene - has worked for the Machinists since
2005 As District 250 receptionist, she is
generally the first person you speak with, though
all of our office staff are happy to answer your
calls. Also responsible for hundreds of tasks that
no one ever seems to get the time to accomplish.
